Clydesdale Media Podcast

Every day we take a breath from the busy work day to take a break and talk about the world of Sports, Entertainment and specifically the CrossFit Space.  Today the Cowboy is back, we talk about Holli's new document, the withdraws from WFP, can Laura flip the script and become likeable.

What is Clydesdale Media Podcast?

We cover the sport of CrossFit from all angles. We talk with athletes, coaches and celebrities that compete and surround in the sport of CrossFit at all levels. We also bring you Breaking News, Human Interest Stories and report on the Methodology of CrossFit. We also use the methodology to make ourselves the fittest we can be.

After this week and talking about Laura

Horvat so much,

I think I'm kind of starting to like

her.

Let's talk about that next.

I love the chase and the hunt,

and I set the pace when I'm running.

I always take what I want,

and I always give it one hundred.

Don't need a bank, no I'm funded.

Play the game like it's nothing.

I'm always thankful for something.

Don't take for granted, stay humble.

Now wake up!

It's time to look at the enemy.

Look in the mirror if he is no

friend to me.

What's going on?

It's lunchtime, everybody.

I don't have train all of in the

chat.

Give me my lunch time.

Right.

That man.

I have to,

I have to go with a Joseph Ramirez

lunchtime.

He seems pretty excited about it.

Nothing else.

Yeah.

Just weird.

You know, you, you have expectations.

Oh, yeah.

We got Shay in the chat.

We got Corey.

You're here.

How are you chatting?

Hey, bro.

I'm everywhere.

Every meal is exciting.

It sure is.

Look, Ramirez was in the military.

He understands about every meal being

exciting because you never know when your

next one's going to be.

So every meal is definitely exciting.

So I've been trying to dial it all

in, right?

I'm starting to do my broccoli slaw

frittatas for breakfast.

That sounds good.

So, you know, a little pan spray,

a little broccoli slaw.

Let it cook up a little bit.

Pour some egg white over it.

And then one egg.

And then a little bit of Chinese ketchup.

The sriracha.

Yeah.

I got a bottle in my desk.

And so...

My wife stays home from work today,

and she's working from home.

And she goes, man, that stinks.

I'm like,

who asked you to come into my office?

It seems unnecessary.

It's my house.

I just break in every morning.

Telling me my breakfast stinks.

And then I go back to my desk,

and she's like, man, but it looks good.

Go make your own.

Oh, wait, it stinks.

You don't want to leave my breakfast

alone.

That's beside the point, Shay.

I'm trying to be healthy.

I need support.

It might still look funny while it's

cooking, but I guarantee it tastes good.

Sriracha will now be referred to as

Chinese ketchup at my house from now on.

You think we could get a sponsorship if

I just do this long enough?

When I say there's one at my desk,

I'm not kidding.

It is my favorite sauce in the world.

It's fantastic.

You just have to little dots on whatever.

You don't have to go crazy.

Sounds great,

but those damn condiments always have to

have so much sugar in them.

actually i don't think it's that bad this

has zero grams added sure there you go

right here on the label one teaspoon which

is five grams is uh about per serving

zero calories the whole container is

ninety five servings and i'm only dotting

the thing so yeah

That is kind of great.

Corey, do you live in a flood zone?

Why are your plugs so high on the

wall?

Bro,

if I can answer that question logically,

I would.

I have absolutely no idea.

My office used to be like a storage

closet,

which is why I have my fake window

right up here on the wall.

So I have absolutely no idea,

really and truly.

Ken,

looks like I'm buying Chinese ketchup

today.

See?

You know what?

You're welcome.

Try it, buddy.

And then just is like still too spicy

for me.

Add a little spice to your life.

she's a she's a farm girl like she

just wants whole whole milk like raw milk

and and probably eating eggs out of the

yard which i ain't mad at either one

of them by the way right so yeah

get some fresh beef salt pepper yeah uh

next up protein enhanced sriracha but hey

you said sponsorship and we already got it

we already got a convert

yeah look let's see how easy that was

people sriracha check us out look we were

we talked about it one time and we

converted somebody already already got a

sale right out the gate and before you

even gave us any any kind of money

i mean come on uh jess is like

yes sir megan fresh eggs are the best

They are.

My mom and I went down a rabbit

hole the other day because we were

watching survivor and they,

the one team won a rooster and three

hens and the team killed the rooster to

eat and kept the hens.

And I was like, well,

don't you need one to get the other?

And so apparently,

apparently after deep researching this,

you don't need a rooster to get eggs,

right?

You only need a rooster if you want

those eggs to become chicks.

Just like a female produces eggs.

Okay, but here's the thing on that,

though.

Survivor is kind of a long-term thing,

right?

How long did they go for?

It's like twenty-eight days or something

now.

Okay, so that's not that long.

All right, never mind.

Yeah.

So they kept the hens,

so the hens will keep laying the eggs,

and they won't be fertilized,

which you don't want them to be fertilized

anyway.

I was going to say,

if they were going to be there for

a while,

then they could make more chickens by

having the rooster,

and that would make more sense,

because then you've got food supply.

Yeah, you're not going that long.

They're not going that long.

To incubate the eggs would be complicated.

I've never seen an episode of Survivor.

FYI, not one.

Well, it just made me wonder, like,

because I thought my whole life to get

an egg to come out of a hen,

you needed a rooster for it to happen.

But no, the egg always comes out.

The rooster only fertilizes the egg if you

want chicks.

So.

Fair enough.

I need that.

I mean, it makes sense.

You know, thing to come up now.

Yeah.

We need that on the button on the

road.

Yeah.

Yeah,

I'll never understand those chicken and

rooster rules.

Never.

Megan, it's basically a hen's period.

There you go.

I don't care.

Yeah.

Fresh eggs are phenomenal.

I got a friend of mine that they

have chickens and we get eggs from them

fairly regularly.

And I absolutely love them.

Joseph, what about Baloo?

That means the egg's been fertilized.

That means there was some intercourse

going on between the rooster and the hen,

and the egg becomes fertilized.

And Jess says, from the farmland,

roosters are a-holes.

So are geese.

I don't know if you knew that or

not.

They are.

Ducks, geese.

Geese are mean.

We are...

In Columbus,

we were inundated with Canadian geese.

Yeah.

They're protected.

If you hit one,

it's like a seven hundred dollar fine.

And they waddle their ass across the

street like they own the joint.

Oh, my gosh.

So how does the rooster fertilize the egg?

Sounds like the rooster gets no play.

The rooster does have to mount the hen

to fertilize the egg.

So you I'm just telling you.

You learn at lunch.

You're welcome.

Megan,

we lived in Fort Wayne for a while.

They're everywhere and they are mean.

Yeah.

See, we're not that far from Fort Wayne.

I'm like two hours,

two and a half hours away.

I think you put up, yeah.

It's Canada geese, not Canadian geese.

They do not have citizenship.

That's fair, Doug.

I didn't realize how much I'd learned

today.

See?

This is a learning show.

This is the most educational show on the

internet.

I'm just telling you right now.

You can learn stuff every day.

I swear to God, my mom is AD.

She listens to the show every day.

She loves Corey.

She never misses a Corey episode.

And then at night, we recap it.

And then there's always questions.

And we're going Amazon Alexa.

We're going Google.

We're doing something.

Educational and fun.

Yeah, that's why we're here.

Look, Shannon.

I really guys had no idea.

People didn't know how this works.

Listen, you and your doctorate degree,

it can come in here saying all this

stuff.

I'm just a simpleton with an MBA.

I don't know.

I don't know how biology works.

Science was my struggle bus.

Some people are qualified to give health

advice.

Some people know about chickens.

Like, come on.

Oh, and finally, finally,

like five minutes late.

Lunchtime.

Thanks, Winner.

Oh, look, we talked about Holly yesterday.

So what came first,

the chicken or the egg?

I'm going to go with chicken.

The world will never know.

It's like how many licks it takes to

get the center of a Tootsie Pop.

The world will never know.

The world may never know.

I'm glad you said that.

They were talking about, I said,

play the song on the radio show.

Let's do it in the morning.

Bill, I'm a bill on Capitol Hill.

And that was all about the same time.

Rob Gilroy is going with the egg.

Rob doesn't.

That's one of my best friends on the

face of the planet.

He has absolutely no idea what he's

talking about.

Don't worry about him.

Look, these days,

fifty percent of the population can't tell

you what a woman is.

This is a farm show.

We're not going into that politics.

Yeah.

geese are great watch pets for predators.

I had them on the farm,

and they protected the other birds.

I know people that have had geese for

that reason.

They didn't have a guard dog.

They had a guard goose.

I can see that.

They are mean as hell,

and they would do the job.

They're very territorial.

If they live somewhere,

that's where they live,

and they're accepting no solicitors.

I need one for my front porch.

Yeah.

Well,

last thing before we get into a little

bit of CrossFit is yesterday I got my

CT scan back.

My doctor has not looked at it yet.

And so I got it.

I'm going to share it because I don't

know what it means.

Well, maybe Shanna can tell us.

I'm trying to guess.

So here we go.

And this is just the recap at the

top.

So these are my sinuses for my CT

scan.

I have varying degrees of paranasal sinus

mucosal thickening,

overall significantly increased since.

With findings of chronic bilateral frontal

sphenoid and maxillary sinusitis,

total opacification of the left maxillary

sinus and bilateral frontal sinuses.

That last sentence doesn't sound great.

No, no.

The last sentence, number two,

really got me.

Scattered hyperdensity in the maxillary

frontal ethmoid sinuses could reflect

insipid secretions or fungal colonization.

Bilateral paranasal sinus outflow tracts

are opacified.

Hold up.

Just reach.

Look, brother.

Left side's full of fluid.

There we go.

Basically, you're stuffed up.

There it is.

Thank God.

There we go.

And I now have a fungal colony.

Yeah.

So got those words yesterday.

There's also like later in a thing about

something about my septum is off to the

one side and a bunch of other stuff.

Yeah.

Do you have any nose broken?

Or you ever broke your nose,

I should say?

I don't know.

I don't know.

I was a bouncer in a bar for

years, man.

Right.

What happened during those times?

I don't know.

Got it.

Yeah,

they cannot drain because outflow tracks

block leading to build up a fluid that

bacteria and fungus love.

Yeah.

So that's exciting.

It was to determine whether an antibiotic

rinse could be used to go up in

there to kind of clear it all out.

Or is it going to take another surgery

to open it up and get that stuff?

And so I've been dealing with this for

four years.

I've already had one sinus surgery where

they left a sponge in there.

I remember that.

I remember you said you either coughed or

sneezed and it came out.

I sneezed and it came out.

And so now I have got a whole

new set of doctors.

I'm going through the whole process again

to try to get this cured.

And so the new ENT sent me for

the CT scan to get these results.

And as you can see,

I had the surgery in twenty twenty two

and it's worse now than it was then.

So.

Uh, so see me,

I've tried all the rinses.

I've tried all the neti pots.

I've tried all the stuff.

It's just, it's just not moving.

Yeah.

Thank you for that.

Um,

so I have not tried to shop vac

with the special nasal attachment that I

still have to give a go.

i mean do you have a shot back

because i could build you something to put

up your nose dude i am there are

temptations i would be almost willing to

give it a shot just saying i get

one hundred percent build you something to

put up there and we can run that

shot back and get that out of there

yeah so before we jump into too many

other things i did want to share this

one thing that holly put out today uh

because this is love on holly week

Are we talking about the Google doc that

she made?

Yes.

Dude.

So I'm going to share that right here.

This came out of Sunday night show.

People were asking how to qualify for

different things, how to, what, how, who,

how many are they taking?

How many get to the games?

So this is a Google doc and this

is the main page.

This is the, the season is a,

an outline.

Then over here on the left,

you see all of the – and this

is for Masters.

You see Legends, Magic City, Online Semis,

French Throwdown, Torium Pro, LATAM.

These are all of the Masters competitions.

When you click on them,

like here's Legends, here's the date,

Individuals and Masters,

In-Person Invitation Only.

how many people that will be competing,

how many qualifying spots.

And then here is all of her resources

with links to those resources and where

she got all the information.

Like, really nice footnoted,

the whole bit.

And this is everything she has been able

to determine up until this point as to

how you can get to an event and

eventually get to the CrossFit Games.

And all in one spot.

And she will update this as she learns

more.

I've also had Magic City reach out to

me to come on the show and explain

their process.

So we'll have Micah on to do that.

Micah, brother.

Good lord.

Yeah.

Uh, John George,

where's that doc go to either mine or

data wads story.

And there's a live link.

All you have to do is click on

it.

It'll take your right to the page.

Holly's a boss dude.

Uh, train all of that doc was fantastic.

Yeah.

Holly is the, the bomb.

It's it's ridiculous.

you can see there's legends there's magic

city there's the online semis there's the

french throwdown there's torian pro and

there's lat am everything you need to know

even like links to the registration right

from this page so yeah can't beat it

yeah um

Yeah.

If they left a sponge in there,

I bet it's worse.

Yeah.

Yeah.

So crazy.

So anyway, there's that.

I wanted to make sure we shared that.

Yes.

Thank you, Holly.

What I wanted to talk about next is

more Horvat.

We've been talking about her all week.

What is the possibility of her doing the

games next year?

Because I have been arguing all week that

the only thing left for her to accomplish

to prove greatness is to beat Tia at

the games.

She's done everything else.

Whether you like her or not,

she is a phenomenal athlete who has won

a lot of events around the world,

and the only thing she has not done

is beat Tia at the games.

Well,

that and straight handstand pushups with a

deficit.

Well, she's done them.

It's just not well.

Sorry.

It's low-hanging fruit, Scott,

what you want me to do?

So I contend now that after Rogue,

I would say I was indifferent to Laura

as a fan of her and as an

athlete.

Sure.

The more people are bashing her,

the more I'm starting to like her.

And I've always been that way.

Like I've always,

I was a Pittsburgh penguin fan.

Everybody was Mario Lemieux fans.

I was a Paul coffee fan because I

didn't want to be the fan of the

person that got all the notoriety.

I liked the next person.

Right.

And so the more people are hating on

her,

the more now I want her to do

well.

And I don't know why it's why I'm

wired that way, but it's happening.

Um,

Megan says it was fun watching her at

Rogan.

She usually isn't my favorite.

Uh,

John George is laughing at me and train

all of the same.

Uh, Ken Walters.

That's another reason why I watch because

I understand the eighties slang today,

the bomb yesterday off the hook.

I am what I am.

It is what it is.

So as far as the actual topic, right?

Can somebody taking Laura Horvath,

for example, you know,

that I don't say nobody seems to like,

but like,

doesn't seem very personable or whatever

the case may be become likable.

Right.

That's, that's,

that's what we're looking at there.

Ricky Mack.

Yep.

Ricky Mack.

I mean,

Everybody, myself included,

hated that dude.

Oh, he's a cheat.

Oh, he's full of shit.

Oh, he's blah, blah, blah, whatever.

Serves his time.

And let's be honest,

from what we could see,

from what the outside could see,

he was acting like an ass while he

was serving his time, right?

Doing the open workouts,

even though he wasn't able to do the

open workouts, called it out, Matt Fraser,

you know, about doing them,

stuff like that.

Just kind of being himself,

really and truly.

And now look at him.

Everybody loves that dude.

Myself included.

A lot had to do with this dude.

Yep, sure enough.

Big fan of Laura.

Always have been.

Not sure what she'll do moving forward.

But those saying she's afraid to show up

at events that Tia's at is laughable.

Trust me, she isn't afraid of anyone.

No,

I don't think she's afraid of anyone

either.

And I think I one percent agree with

Justin.

People talk about she's scared to show up

where Tia is.

No, she's not.

No, she didn't do the game.

One thing left for her to accomplish,

dude.

Well,

she didn't show up to the games this

year or didn't do the season this year

for her own reasons,

and that's perfectly fine.

I don't think anybody is questioning that

whatsoever, or if the people are,

that's on them.

That's projecting your own insecurities on

somebody else.

Anybody is free to do or not to

do whatever the hell it is that they

want.

Did she come off?

Yes, Jenny, one hundred percent.

Villains are great for the sport.

Someone has to get booed.

And people love the villains.

They love to boo the villains,

go to a WWE event.

Like those are some of the most popular

people is the people that are considered

to be quote villains.

What's crazy about the WWE and where this

kind of transformed is people started

cheering for the villains.

Yes.

Like the rock and stone cold.

They all turned heel at some point and

they were just as popular when they were

the bad guy as they were as a

good guy.

absolutely and yes what john says right

there uh she is she is herself dude

tell me yes or no laura versus tia

at the twenty twenty six games are you

tuning in to see that yeah of course

that's it um vindicate everyone better

start fearing alex

I said that after Rogue this weekend.

Dude.

If she just had a little more time.

To me,

she looked a little tired on Sunday.

Justin may correct me if I'm wrong.

Because she hasn't had a lot of time

to prep for this.

And to do what she did with less

training time than others was impressive.

She was my favorite one to watch this

past weekend for that reason.

Knowing what just happened.

broken leg, was going to come back,

wasn't going to be able to make it,

was going to do whatever the other,

I forget what the other one,

didn't make it,

and then comes to Rogue and just

demolishes people.

Right?

That girl is an absolute force.

Tristan, dude, if people don't fear Alex,

they aren't paying attention.

He knows the game.

Jess, Alex is a force.

Justin, correct, Corey,

people may not like her reasons for

showing up,

but the narrative is she's afraid of

anyone is silly.

She's never been afraid of anyone, dude.

From the first year when she was a

rookie and she came out from nowhere,

like nobody knew who she was and just

was wrecking shop, dude.

Laura has always been right there.

You might not like her, but who cares?

Then he goes on to say, wow,

to me that Alex isn't getting more love

after this event.

She was cleared to squat five weeks ago.

People better be terrified.

That's insane.

Tristan five weeks.

LMAO.

Yeah, that's wild.

She just watched five weeks ago.

Write it down now.

So Justin is calling his Sharpie.

Put that in Sharpie.

And for those who watch the Sunday night

show,

we play a game called pencil pen Sharpie.

Make a statement.

Which,

which apparatus do you write it down in?

Oh yeah.

If,

Cleared a squad five weeks ago,

goes to Rogue, which is heavy, right?

They program heavy.

Comes out, finishes second.

Get out of here, dude.

Come on.

That is insane.

It wasn't even close to third.

No, not at all.

It was Laura, Alex, and everybody else.

Cavern, next.

so yeah grant come on dude man that

is why grant is not the number one

analyst in the space right there yeah

check out the heat one results from this

weekend i think that's a i think i

think you got a fair argument at this

point scott number one shot caller right

here in the media space

And I said the week before that the

three men who had the most motivation to

do well at Rogue and why I'm putting

them on the podium were Jeff Adler,

Justin Medeiros, James Sprague.

One, two, four.

Let me tell you something.

And I know people have been saying that,

but I'm going to say it myself again.

People better pay attention to Justin

Medeiros.

Yeah.

People better pay attention to Justin

Medeiros.

Grant, I know you don't like Alex, bro.

So keep creating motivation.

How can you not like Alex?

I've never seen a video with her or

an interaction with her that was anything

but like positive on the up and up.

Like she seems like everybody's little

sister, dude.

Like she's amazing.

She's definitely one of my favorite

females in the group for sure.

It's all right.

We need hot takes too.

Just like we need villains.

If you need hot takes,

Grant is definitely your go-to guy.

You can write that down.

Yeah.

Well, Grant and Saban.

I don't forget Gabby,

but Gabby had won good games and not

everybody was there.

And poor Gabby.

She needs to get healthy.

Not one?

Name another.

She just got second at Rogue, Grant.

What more do you want after coming off

a car crash?

Pam, see me with the mic drop.

Yeah.

I mean, dude.

capital people who are getting major

clients yeah whatever dude uh big big fan

of justin not sure if you can call

him a dark horse or a sleeper but

he's coming so he's in a weird dark

horse or a sleeper for sure no but

but people he wins two consecutive right

and then whatever

has a couple of down years,

for all intents and purposes,

and now you see him coming back up.

And what he did at Rogue over the

weekend was how he won the games both

times.

Wasn't real flashy.

Didn't necessarily have to win any events

or anything like that.

Was just consistent.

I mean, dude.

Oh, man.

The back and forth is just too much.

Let's go.

Alex has beaten Olivia in every

competition they have ever been in.

That's hilarious.

You have her behind Olivia.

Laughing my effing ass off.

Olivia is nineteen, Justin.

Alex is twenty-four, dude.

Take a gummy like you told me.

Young athletes don't have exponential

increase in performance across time.

They just peak earlier.

So, all right.

So my next topic is all the withdrawals

at the WFP.

Bad month or bad sign?

So we have Haley Adams, Lexi Neely,

Emma McQuaid, Victor Hoffer,

and Bethany Flores all withdrawing from

the finals of the WFP.

You have Sam Kwan,

who was torn in Achilles at Rogue,

and you have Emma Tall,

who had to withdraw from Rogue with

another shoulder injury.

And that's just what we know now.

so i would take let's take those two

out because they're injured right so

that's injuries injuries happen haley

didn't do a single event right well she

had any wfp she withdrew from all of

them haley yeah yeah so haley and emma

mcquade didn't do a single event they gave

those those ladies their pro card and they

were both like no i'm just not coming

Lexi Neely was in twenty fourth place,

which just said so in a position where

she could have earned a pro card.

Withdrew and it was and it was like

now.

Victor Hoffer, another injury, he's out.

Bethany Flores.

OK, she's she got pregnant.

Yeah.

But then you have now two more people

getting injured during this long season.

Elongated season.

Yeah.

Vindicate there will be more.

I think he's right.

So my next question is,

if you're Jeff Adler and you had to

miss tour stop two,

you just won a quarter of a million

dollars at Rogue.

Where's the incentive to go to WIP?

You have the incentive to...

your back is now feeling or whatever

injury you sustained is now feeling pretty

good.

Is it worth the,

the trauma of going to Copenhagen or is

he a potential another withdrawal?

Oh, I'd say he's definitely,

if I'm looking at it,

it's a risk reward type thing, right?

Cause you know how much you've competed

road was heavy road took a lot,

probably took a lot out of all the

athletes.

What Justin says right there makes a lot

of sense to me.

it's going to be a least-prioritized

confidence season.

It's right before the Open at this point,

timeline-wise.

Just road just finished.

Who wants to travel and compete the week

of Christmas?

Justin says, unfortunately,

I think the final stage of WP will

be the least-prioritized confidence

season.

Athletes are ready for a break.

And to be able to focus on next

season, that it's just the way it is.

Yeah.

That's a common sense take.

Thank you, Mr. Collar.

Yeah.

I,

I'm just looking at it from like the

perspective of some of these athletes who,

you know, Jeff,

Jeff looked broken halfway through rogue

as a person who didn't know if his

body was going to finish the weekend.

Right.

And then it held up and then you

had like a new confident Jeff at the

end of the weekend.

If you're him,

do you want to take a couple months

off to be ready for the next season

in a healthy fashion?

Or do you want to try to get

a pro card?

I think it's a valid question for a

lot of athletes.

I think it's a valid question.

I think, like Justin was saying,

I think it's kind of a no-brainer.

And what Travis is adding about, you know,

it's also right at Christmas time.

People want to be with their families,

you know.

Yeah.

It's a lot, dude.

It's a whole lot physically, mentally,

emotionally, you know, they were,

you already saw people or heard,

heard people, I should say,

like Dallin and talking about being, uh,

in the warmup area and just didn't feel

like it mattered when they were in

Phoenix.

Right.

They were just like, eh,

kind of sending it in at that point

because they knew they were getting a

paycheck.

Well,

all these guys have already gotten

paychecks.

So unless their sponsors are making them

kind of like making them show up, like,

Hey,

I need you to go be out there

and kind of represent the brand and

whatnot.

Why would you care?

No, I'm not going.

No, I'm not going.

No, I'm not going.

I just don't.

I just don't.

I don't, I don't see it.

I really, really don't.

I don't see where it makes sense.

I do wish there was a way we

could come up with a format that allows

these athletes to make money throughout

the season.

But I think this prestige that ninety

percent of the athletes put the CrossFit

Games at that has to still remain

priority.

being fittest on earth crown fittest on

earth means more than anything else right

now and it will for a very long

time and I think CrossFit is also helping

out by hey this is where the game

is going to be this is when the

game is going to be now like we

know in November this is where all the

semifinals are going to be this is how

we can decide you're going to qualify this

year all that's already laid out I think

the only thing we don't have right now

is a rule book correct me if I'm

wrong

And that usually comes out right around,

you know, first of the year,

but not when they kind of adjust whatever

they need to adjust and then put it

out there.

Everything else has been early this year.

So I'm hoping rule book is early this

year too.

Well, if it's on track,

if it's on point where everything else has

been going on, then yeah,

it should be out shortly.

I would think.

Especially after that beatdown at Rogue.

I can tell you the next five weeks,

Alex won't touch a load over eighty

percent.

We'll run and swim a ton.

I would assume most athletes will do the

same.

If they are smart, Mr. Cutler, yes,

they will.

Jeff seems very calculated.

More than likely withdrawal.

He wants to win the games.

Yeah.

And Caroline Lambre said, like,

they have to look at where they can

make the most money.

And if you're Jeff Adler and you've won

the games and you've won Rogue,

like that's where the big money is.

If you can sell those two boxes every

year.

It's only where the big prestige is.

Yeah.

talk to any one of those guys that

was at Rogue like the majority of them

were like oh yeah no Rogue circling my

calendar every year like I'm going to

Rogue I want to go do Rogue no

matter where it's at I mean it was

in Aberdeen Scotland in the past two years

and they were more than happy to go

all the way out there but I understand

like the weather this year was terrible

outside well because they're they're

compensated to go yeah like Rogue is just

a different animal

haven't seen the hwp video yet hbo hwpo

video yet but i will look i have

done you know i watched pretty much

anything that's got miss kazan on it i

think she's fantastic but yeah i don't see

i see it getting worse before it gets

better as far as the wwp thing is

concerned with with with with withdrawals

and people just pulling out

I don't think it means as much right

now to the majority of them.

The higher level ones.

Does that make sense?

I just don't see where it's...

It's not the games.

It's not Rogue.

Is it a big competition?

Sure.

Why?

Because they made it a big competition.

Because they had enough money to throw

behind it to have this big production and

have all these...

lights and the you know the broadcast and

all this other stuff but you can you

can throw money at something and make it

look really really cool and it still

doesn't mean anything because it's kind of

empty and it's kind of hollow and again

and let's have the final we're going to

have them uh same week as christmas uh

same week as what

Will WFP backfill with challengers?

If so,

challengers that didn't do Rogue would be

fresh.

He's not wrong.

Who are those people?

At this point,

the backfills are like Emily Lugman.

I don't think that's a threat to the

people at the top.

No, not at all.

Whoever Rogue hired for the graphics

package needs to be hired by the games

and everybody else who can afford them.

Anybody else who can afford them.

Savannah was talking about it the other

day and talking about how expensive that

shit probably was.

Or maybe it was Chase.

I don't remember.

I think it was Chase was saying how

much expensive that stuff probably was.

But holy crap, it was cool.

Yeah.

Sorry, guys.

The fungal colony is moving into my

throat.

It's dropping in.

It's dropping in the sky.

Yeah, the graphics, like the whole thing,

that it was so fun to watch.

It was so fun to watch.

To the point where, like,

I would literally,

I'd have it on TV at home,

and I had a lot of running around

on Saturday.

I'd pause it wherever it was at.

come back and instead of like oh i'm

gonna catch up no i'm just gonna pick

it up right from where i was and

just wasn't paying attention my phone so i

could see exactly like who did what and

when like they did was fantastic i did

the same on sunday or saturday i watched

the first two events went over to my

nephew's to see his new baby and then

came home and i paused it where it

was caught up great rogue did a great

job the whole broadcast production was off

Off the hook.

It was off the hook.

For us Gen Xers out there.

Absolutely, it was off the hook.

It was jazzy, man.

I was jazzed for it.

What the graphics did for the duel was

amazing.

To be able to see that whole thing

play out on a bracket...

floating above the floor was phenomenal.

And then to get rid of all the

downtime during the duel,

that event is my favorite.

And I know it,

you could never play that at the games

when you're trying to find the fittest,

but you, you, you,

it is so much fun to watch in

a showcase like rogue is doing.

And it was again,

the event itself was fun to watch because,

Overlog, underlog, overlog, boom.

Like having to finish on the same,

like the entire thing was,

it was so much better than it's been

in the past.

Listen to Jenny, people.

Come on.

It is the three K. Come on.

If Rogue fixes the programming,

does it become the best event of the

year?

Even over the games, better money,

better presentation?

I don't think they want to.

The programming, if you listen to Katie,

the programming doesn't need to be fixed.

The programming is what they want it to

be because that is what rogue programming

looks like.

Look at any one of their challenges that

they do randomly through the year, right?

It's all power output,

strength output type stuff, right?

The Fifty Cal Challenge,

the whatever other, you know,

what they have, like a squat challenge,

like all the little challenges and shit

they do.

Hold the plate in front.

Yeah.

All of that is the stuff that they

like to showcase, right?

There's also a strongman competition going

on at the same time.

Like that's part of what Rogue is.

So to appease both sides,

you're going to have some CrossFit people

doing some strongman type stuff.

Because that's what the programming is.

So it's going to err towards the strength

side of things.

And it's been like that since they've been

doing it.

Vindicates his final event was big guy

event here.

Here's my thing on programming.

I've never claimed to be someone who can

analyze programming.

I don't as a spectator,

I am viewing this as a spectator.

What is fun to watch?

I understand that the games has to be

balanced and it has to fit every kind

of box and along the way to make

sure we get the fittest on earth.

Rogue is fun to watch for me.

you, you can say it's not balanced.

You can say it's a big guy event.

You can say it's power output,

but like everybody said that, that, um,

that back squat snatch, um, uh,

sandbag clean was a big guy event.

Emily Rolfe finished top five.

Yeah, she did.

Like she debunked that in a quick hurry.

That's a shock the world for her.

Um,

It's just fun to watch for me.

And maybe it's because I am a big

guy.

And maybe I can relate to some of

the stuff more than a very gymnastic-y

type waterpalooza or something like that.

I don't know.

I just think they know who they are

as far as programming is concerned for

their event.

And that's what they're going to do.

Right.

They're not going to suddenly randomly

throw in just one.

Yes.

They did have one long event,

but that's it.

They had one long event,

no ring muscle ups,

tiny bit of handstand walking.

Like it wouldn't,

They know who they are,

they program for who they are,

and that's the end of it.

And I think that's how it should be.

It's not the games.

They're not trying to benefit us on Earth,

and they know that.

I saw a comment,

somebody was complaining about the program

and whatnot,

but they run parallel to the games.

They're in their own lane,

and that's where they excel.

So why would they change what they're

doing?

They're not trying to be the games.

They're not trying to find the fitness on

Earth.

They're trying to put on a spectacle for

people to see and enjoy and showcase their

products, by the way.

Shana says,

they may not want to be better than

the games,

but from a spectator and athlete

perspective, is it better?

It might be.

Now, I think if you ask Jeff Adler,

it's probably better.

If you ask...

Emily Rolfe or I don't know.

Like I do think that like the gymnastics

experts would probably contend it's not

better because they don't have a chance

maybe.

But I think the way they're treated is

better.

Because they are given a stipend to

travel.

The paydays are big.

Everybody gets money.

That doesn't happen at the games.

But it's only a twenty person field where

the games is a thirty person field.

So you have to give them that as

well.

It's its own thing.

And look, they keep showing up.

The athletes keep showing up.

Nobody's withdrawing from Rogue unless

they absolutely have to.

They're not withdrawing from Rogue or not

participating in it simply because.

They might show up and phone it in.

Not picking no names out here,

but seeing a little bit of that going

on.

Sean in Oregon,

the primary objective of Rogue is to sell

Rogue.

If you listen to Katie,

and I have no reason not to believe

her,

the primary objective of Rogue is to give

a showcase, to treat the athletes well,

and to put on a show.

And I think if anybody would know...

A marketing piece will take care of

itself.

They don't need a marketing piece at this

point.

You can go in damn near anywhere.

Any gym, anywhere around here,

you will find some sort of rope equipment

somewhere.

Our entire rig is rope.

I think all our wall bars are rope.

We have several rope barbells, plates.

Travis, I do not believe so.

If you look at the breakdown of in-person

semis, and it's still .

Yeah.

Tristan's got a solid point right there.

Yep.

Complaining about rogue programming is

like complaining about crash programming.

You knew what it was going to be.

Straight up.

And everybody knows if you go to crash,

it's going to be odd objects.

It's going to be funky gymnastics.

And you're going to get to play with

things you don't get to play with at

any other competition.

And rogue,

you know it's going to be a power

output event.

You're probably not going to get a ton

of gymnastics.

if you do they're gonna they're gonna be

funky in a different kind of way because

those log muscle ups look awkward as yep

yeah they don't try to pretend to be

something else to trick you into coming in

yeah like

They know who they are.

And isn't that what makes people

successful?

Identify who you are.

Identify what your strengths are.

And just move forward unabashedly.

A hundred percent.

And wearing it on their chest.

And JR does that with Crash.

And Katie does that with Rogue.

A hundred percent.

Never happened, Travis.

Never happened.

Katie is never going to take her finger

off that.

Not at all.

Not at all.

She's awesome.

That would be like J.R.

letting Taylor program crash.

Which is also never going to happen.

Right.

That is J.R.

's event.

He wants to program it.

Nobody else is going to do it.

And Katie is going to feel the same

way.

Yeah.

And that's all of

They either know that they know what

they're doing or they think they know what

they're doing.

Listen, I'm okay with Dave programming.

I'm okay with JR programming.

I'm okay with Katie programming.

I just don't want Bob and Joe to

program.

I'll let you know in a couple weeks.

I'll let you know in a couple weeks.

That is it.

That is where I put my stake in

the ground.

Let's just stop that nonsense.

Again.

Del Mar will be programmed by them.

They're only taking twenty in my age

group.

Wow.

All right.

Not for December.

For next year.

For the semifinal.

Yeah.

Yep.

Yeah,

but Magic City is not that far from

you.

Six hours.

Yep.

If you're under eight,

that's drivable and makes it so much

easier to get to.

Oh, God, yeah.

God, yes.

No, I would much rather...

Let me tell you,

this is how close it is.

I am putting my foot down.

Absolutely not.

No,

you can't go by Larry because Larry wants

it heavy.

I don't care if it was the endurance

games.

At least it had a theme.

At least it knew what it was,

and it made sense in its entirety.

Whether Larry Young or not is a different

thing.

Larry Young wants it heavy.

The Bob and Joe show doesn't make sense.

We've done some weird stuff.

Sorry.

Love you, Larry.

Love you.

And I know that you would love a

rogue programmed event.

I know it.

But no way.

No way.

Sitting through two Masters games in

person, talking to the athletes, trust me,

you don't want that.

Some strong opinions were voiced.

Yeah.

What's funny is like I took all those

strong opinions out of the documentary

because I was trying to build a

relationship so I could keep doing those

behind the scenes.

What good did that do me?

None.

None.

Because they don't want third party people

around.

i'm not i'm not sure grubb did like

it all but because he wins he puts

on the face that he does jason grove

it comes he's very diplomatic he's very

diplomatic and good for him on that like

he's got he had uh joe on the

other day on his podcast talking about the

upcoming what not this legends i'm going

to but the semi-final he had uh

Magic City Games guy.

Micah.

Micah.

I keep wanting to say Jonah,

and I know that's not right.

He had Micah on right before then,

like a day or two before then,

talking about it,

and he is very complimentary,

very diplomatic, very positive,

because he wants people to come back and

get on his show again.

Why wouldn't he?

I didn't want to dive into this,

but Grubb is programming the Legends

Championship in December.

I'm aware.

That is Bob and Joe's baby.

Yes, it is.

If Grubb comes out and says he doesn't

like their programming,

what kind of business does he get on

the backside to work with them in the

future?

You go to any Masters competition and

Boulder Athlete has a huge booth with a

ton of amenities and a ton of athletes.

grub can't afford to talk bad about

anybody in the space because there's not a

lot of opportunities for masters and so he

can't say the things that we can say

yeah and you and you have to understand

that like his living his well-being is all

based on his success in the master space

and having access to all of the events,

and if he badmouths any of it,

he loses that.

He's definitely tied.

You know what, Tristan?

Uh, Larry says, I really,

really don't see why it's so hard to

have one long,

one heavy and a ton of CrossFit.

I'm okay with that on a long weekend.

It depends on how many days and how

many events.

Yeah.

People get real pissy when you critique

their programming.

Trust me.

Even if they ask you to Tristan,

which I'm sure you know about that as

well.

Like, sometimes, because I've got, hey,

man, can you look at this?

I've had a couple friends of mine that

have written stuff.

Absolutely.

And you go, well,

maybe this instead of that.

Maybe move this around,

whatever the case may be.

Oh, man, well, we already tested it.

Well,

then why did you ask me any questions?

Like, if you want an answer,

I have answers.

You might not like them,

but I want to have answers.

My own opinions, that's for darn sure.

All right, guys.

Well, I need to get back to work.

Me and my fungal colony to get back

upstairs.

We have a lot of stuff to do.

We've got a lot of work to get

done.

So with that, hey, like and subscribe.

We're really close to three K.

We need to get to three K.

It's just a huge personal goal by now.

And with that,

John Young asked me if I would want

rogue programming for the games on their

podcast I said no but I do think

we should always have one top end strength

again as long as it's balanced I'm okay

yeah now if I was entering a comp

I would want one top end strength trust

me but I'm not entering the game if

there's enough events it makes sense if

you're testing everything

You're testing a long endurance event.

If you're testing top-end strength,

if you're testing a bunch of sprints or

a sprint-type deal,

and you're testing regular CrossFit-type

stuff, then yeah,

whatever setting makes sense.

All right, guys.

you corey for being here as always thank

you to everybody in the chat we love

each and every one of you it was

a fun chat today learned a lot about

chickens and eggs and uh fungal colonies

so uh if you missed any of that

go back to the beginning check that out

uh with that we'll see everybody next time

on lunch with the clydesdale
